Jana Davis MS, RDN, CDE

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Serving the Charleston, SC area.

I am Jana Davis, I have over 25 years of experience working in the field of health and  nutrition as well as diabetes education. I have been fortunate to have had a successful career working in a large variety of settings including working for two major healthcare corporations.  I have educated, trained and coached not only patients, but also nurses, physicians, health plan case managers and many employees of major companies on nutrition as well as diabetes management.

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) in Charleston, SC. I practice functional nutrition which means I focus on helping to get to the root cause of disease.  I am a holistic nutritionist looking at many factors that can influence our health, including environment.

I have a Master’s degree in Foods and Nutrition from Florida State University with a minor in Counseling and an undergraduate degree in Food Science from Clemson University. My background has allowed me many opportunities to be on top of the latest information in health and wellness while working as a dietitian in nutrition and healthcare.

There's more to it than calories in and calories out.

By modifying your diet and other lifestyle factors, you can positively change your life! The focus may be on working at the root cause or contributing issues to your disease or maybe just learning how to stay healthy. Either way, help is on the way! Many people have heard the expression that food is medicine and it is so true. I believe another core component is the environmental factors that can impact our health. There is a pandemic of patients with food intolerances, allergies and chemical sensitivities. Many of these chemicals are "endocrine disruptors" and can negatively impact your health and metabolism. This is a vital component along with nutrition, exercise and stress management to treat many diseases including hormonal imbalance.

If you are tired of taking prescription medication or confused about all the conflicting health and nutrition information you read, you are not alone.  I would love to teach you how to use food as a key part of your primary medicine. I can help you achieve better health by getting to the core of the problem that is contributing to disease. I have helped many clients reduce or even completely eliminate their need to take prescription medications and achieve their health goals.

My office is in Charleston, South Carolina, however,  I also offer virtual telehealth nutrition counseling sessions all over South Carolina. I am a licensed dietitian in the state of South Carolina and North Carolina.
